Maintaining Your Privacy
This Privacy Policy discloses maketuwaves site information gathering and dissemination practices. It describes:
- How this information is used and stored;
- Who the information will be shared with;
- How members can opt out of maketuwaves mailings; and
- How members can modify their personal information held by maketuwaves.
Information about members will be collected and held by maketuwaves. This information shall be used to provide services relating to the maketu waves programmes (under the arm of Maketu Community Swim & Projects)
Each member consents to the collection and use of their personal and other information in the manner set out above and the disclosure of such information to Maketu for the purposes of operating the maketuwaves programmes (Maketu Community Swim & Projects programmes)
Members have the right to opt out of mailings by writing to the Maketu Waves, c/- NZ Postal Agency, Maketu, Bay of Plenty or emailing through the site to be taken off the mailing list.
Members may, under the provisions of the Privacy Act 1993, request access to and correction of their personal information held by maketuwaves. These requests must be in writing. A fee may be charged for the reasonable costs incurred in responding to these requests. Any such fee will be disclosed to the member before it is incurred.
This document should be read in conjunction with the New Zealand Privacy Act 1993 legislation. This Act is designed to promote and protect individual privacy and is consistent with international privacy principles.
